Smokin'

Our weather forecast has been similar for weeks. Rain and storms today and tomorrow, and sometimes the next day after that, followed by tantalizingly bright, sunny days for the rest of the 7-day forecast. We never quite make it past the rain and storms of today and tomorrow until now!! Today, we have fire!

Smoke haze from the forest fires in Northern Alberta and BC have settled over Calgary creating an eerie fogginess. And we are all starting to smell like an open fire.

... a little taste of snow

I cannot believe it! Summer is yet to arrive in Calgary (despite it being the hottest Canadian Summer in 63 years everywhere else in the country), and after a small dose of snow at Mt Buller, here I am hanging out for the ski season!

Feelings of inadequacy

Living in Canada, I have made some extraordinary friends but I am starting to wonder whether my ego is up to it.

The Lovely Adrienne competed in her first power lifting competition and managed to break TWO WORLD RECORDS!! And she has been in the sport a mere 8 months.

The gorgeous Mairéad, not only ran and finished the Iron Legs 50 Miler (yes, that is 80km!!), but was also on the podium with a third place!

Great job, Girls. I am very proud of you both!!
