We celebrated my permanent resident status with a rip snorter of a party - the revelling , to an All Canadian soundtrack, went onto 3am. The guests included my very own Mountie and a Beaver (the pre-Cub Scout troupe). I was flooded with many a wonderful gift to welcome me to Canada. These included:
- A 6-pack of Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale
- Back Bacon and maple syrup for the true Canadian breakfast
- Canadian Tyre money
- Canadian Rockies themed note paper
- Canadian Whiskey and Maple Syrup Liqueur, Canadian motif-ed packing tape and postage stamps so I can post things home and a bottle of Australian wine so I do not forget my roots - all packaged in the Canada Post bag
- A 10-pack of Tim Bits, a lumberjack shirt and a Raccoon tail hat!
